ABOUT HOLLAND HOUSE
Holland House is a Theater production company, supported by The Danish Arts Foundation and numerous private foundations. Holland House was established in 1988 by Jacob F. Schokking and Ane Mette Ruge following the stage production of the opera HOLLAND HOUSE.
Since its formation in 1988 Holland House has created a string of critically acclaimed plays and operas with a strong visual expression. Light, sound, video and graphic design feature as co-inventive and significant elements. The performances are created in close cooperation with the involved composers, writers and performers.
Holland House’s artistic director Jacob F. Schokking has developed a groundbreaking way of staging based on his training as a visual artist.
Jacob F. Schokking has created a highly original style with an extensive use of video projections and digital graphics, that has gained increasing recognition in Denmark and abroad.
The most important productions include NUIT DES HOMMES, MANIFEST, STALINGRAD, 4:48 PSYCHOSIS, FEWER EMERGENCIES, FEAR & TREMBLING, WINTHER JOURNEY, DEKALOG, BARCODE and WHAT THE DICTATOR DID NOT SAY.
AWARDS AND PRIZES
2002: Jacob F. Schokking received a Reumert Award.
2009: Jacob F. Schokking received a Reumert Award as director of the year for the staging of FEWER EMERGENCIES.
2009: Jacob F. Schokking was awarded by the Danish Arts Counsil for FEWER EMERGENCIES.
2010: Jacob F. Schokking received Teaterkatten (The theater cat) - an award given by the danish theater critics.
2013: Jacob F. Schokking was awarded by the Danish Arts Counsil for FEAR & TREMBLING
Holland House collaborates with a string of public and private institutions in Denmark and abroad.
